Drinking Lassi, eating Samosa in a Pakistani restaurant ..Barelona

Today was the real exploration by 6 amigos from the USA. Early morning ran to the train station ( literally) to catch the 8am train. The train journey hugs the sea ( I have never been in a train so close to the sea) The track was practically on the beach.
Since the crowd was insane at the main Gaudy’s cathedral, we decided to see the home he built ( it is supposed to be his best poetic and artistic expression) and we were not disappointed. Gaudy was a loner as a kid and got inspiration from nature. This house is all inspired by the ocean, fish, birds and seashells.

Gaudy's Casa Baltia (not sure about the spelling:)

Oh, the food market. It is probably the biggest in the world. SO much food and so much variety of everything. Spices, nuts, pigs, fishes of all sorts and people. Tourists and locals alike. We wondered and argued if locals actually shop here. The question was: If they do not then why there is so much fresh meat and food around. Of course no conclusions. It is impossible to have six type A people agree on anything. This vacation has been a test and we are doing A ( may be not A+ J  on the test.

 Balcony's from 8th century..

 Christopher Columbus monument..

Bollywood is well and flourishing ( Frank: pay attention please :)

After that, we explored the Rambla to the Christopher Columbus monument and then just got lost in the narrow alleys. We discovered the Indians, Pakistanis and Bangla Desi’s ( All Desis) as co owner of the restaurant. Got to drink Mango Lassi, eat samosas and talked about the desi life in Barcelona. They seem to be flourishing and happy.

Came back happy and not exhausted. My recommendation is try to do as much on your own as you can. You discover amazing things, see the locals and somehow not get so tired. May be just stay away from what the tour books recommend J

Good night…
